![]() Parvati Chandra Patil Age 26 Birthday: November 15, 1979 Family Background: Born two minutes after her twin sister, Padma, Parvati was born and raised in London by their parents, Rajeev and Indira. Life was never lonely as Parvati had a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins living either within walking or apparation distance. She also frequently traveled to India, visiting extended family and friends. House: Gryffindor Bloodline: Pureblood. And it doesn't matter in the least. Political Views: None in particular. She's too wrapped up in her own world. But she'd probably tell you if she had an opinion. Appearance Visual Representation: Parminder Nagra Description: Parvati stands about 5'6", in flats, with dark hair and eyes. Although she has left her hair longish, because she's usually too busy to remember to cut it, it's usually up in a ponytail. Her most common accessory, Mummy stains aside, is a smile. Psychology and Personality Sexuality: Though women can be very pretty to look at, men. Please. Strengths and Weaknesses: rom a very young age, Parvati knew she was pretty and wasn't afraid to abuse the knowledge, in order to skate by in life Fortunately, she was able to overcome this, but old habits do die hard and will sometimes let people only see the thin veneer of pretty girl without seeing the capable woman underneath. Of course, she didn't learn this valuable lesson until after leaving Hogwarts. Like her twin, she is tri-lingual, fluent in Hindi, Sanskrit, and English. She is also knows a smattering of other languages. Has a bad habit of gossiping that's lessened as she's gotten older, but that's mostly because she hasn't stuck around long enough for gossip to matter. Habits\Quirks: Parvati is eternally disorganized and messy, except when it comes to her kitchen and her clients' files. She loves trying new things. She prefers savory over sweet, though she will never, ever, turn down chocolate or strawberries or chocolate covered strawberries. Takes her coffee sweet and light, but her tea black. Likes to be barefoot. She talks fast and tends to suffer from word vomit. She finds it hard to ask for help, even when she should fully expect it. Likes\Dislikes: Loves food, hates exercise. The conundrum is the bane of her existence. Luckily she keeps fit by running after an active three year old. She likes the occasional pint and is a wine whore, though she knows next to nothing about it. She hates avocados, going so far as to ban them from her kitchen. Loves to travel, but hates sleeping in hotels. Lifestyle: Occupation: Receptionist at Linley Road Healing Financial Status: Enough to get by, but just enough. Residence: #12 Grimmauld Place, London. History from student days at Hogwarts to the present time: While she was excited to go to Hogwarts at age eleven, she was also nervous, considering it would be the first time she would be away from her sister, especially after their sortings into two different houses. No one was very surprised when Parvati was placed into Gryffindor. She was the more headstrong of the two, who often looked before she leapt. While she wasn't brilliant academically--who could be next to Hermione Granger or her sister--she did well enough. While Padma might scoff at her choice to take Divinations in school, the class did teach Parvati the value of keeping a journal, a habit she continued up through her travels around the world. After Padma chose to return to England, Parvati continued to travel, making stops in Europe, Asia, South America, and North America, wherever her fancy took her. She had a memorable ride in Paris where she took her love of cooking and began to work in a professional kitchen where she met her first adult lover, Jean-Paul. Unfortunately, while their romance was whirlwind and passionate, he forgot to mention to her that she was married. A chance run in with an old friend and housemate in the shape of Dean Thomas and a bottle of wine later, she was over the Frenchman and off to the next great adventure. This carefree spirit eventually landed in Los Angeles. A chance bout of food poisioning later and she met the next great love of her life Dr. Michael Gallant. They had been dating for nearly six months when he recieved a job offer in New York. Parvati followed him. It was during this time they found out Parvati was pregnant and Michael proposed. Parvati accepted without reservations initially, but after a week or so she couldn't help but feel like she was lying both to herself and Michael about her past. He didn't know she was a witch. Eventually she began to look for reasons to pick fights and their relationship ended when she was four months pregnant. Parvati returned to India, though she went to Goa where none of her relatives lived. There she met midwife Lakshmi Singh, who took her under her wing. Her family became Parvati's family for nearly the next nine months as she gave birth to her son, Kiran Michael. After leaving India, Parvati continued her globetrotting ways, exposing Kiran to as many different sounds, sights, foods, and cultures as she could, unconciously avoiding Britian and her family. It was only at her son's instance that they go to the one area of the world they hadn't colored in on the map. The thought of returning home terrifies her more than anything, but she's denied her son and her family the chance to get to know one another, which is something she'll probably never forgive herself for. |
